Today, by organization of Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ANAS, Office of Administration of ANAS and Free Trade Union, final game and awarding ceremony of “5th football championship of the young scientist and specialists of ANAS” devoted to the 95th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Institute of Physics has become a winner of the championship by 1:0.

The meeting for the third place ended with the victory of the Institute of Economy over the team of the High Technologies Park of ANAS with a score of 8:4.

After the competition held at the academy, the ceremony of awarding the winners was held. President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh, Vice-President of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli and Chairman of the Free Trade Union, Doctor of Law, Professor Gabil Gurbanov took part in the event.

In his speech at the event, chairman of the council, Ph.D. in physics, associate professor Famin Salmanov told about the championship. The young scientist brought to attention that the matches of the championship, which started on April 23 with the participation of 17 teams, were managed by a team of professional judges of AFFA.

Speaking further, President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh noted that, the championship, which is held for the 5th year, took a traditional character. Academician noted that, tournament this year is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. He said that, after the coming to power of the great leader in Azerbaijan for the second time our country entered a new stage of its development and achieved many successes in the political, economic, scientific and cultural spheres. Academician has brought to attention that, at present this policy is successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan is recognized throughout the world as a sports country where many international sports games are held.

A.Alizadeh also reported that, in the following years, besides football in ANAS, it is envisaged to hold championships in volleyball, basketball and other sports.

Then, the winners were awarded prizes - medals, diplomas and cash awards.
