On January 24, a meeting of the Presidium of the Free Trade Union of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (NANA) was held. Members of the Presidium of the Free Trade Union of NANA participated in the meeting. Opening the session with an introductory speech, the Chairman of the Free Trade Union of NANA, Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science, Associate Professor Sanan Hasanov acquainted the participants with the agenda items. Sanan Hasanov stated that in 2024, the Free Trade Union of NANA will continue to improve the social conditions of workers, especially those belonging to vulnerable groups, help resolve their financial problems, organize their leisure, stimulate labor, and carry out numerous activities in various areas. He then provided the participants with detailed information about the work plan for 2025. Sanan Hasanov emphasized that socially-oriented events successfully implemented in 2024 are planned to continue in 2025. At the same time, this year marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The work plan for 2025 includes organizing events dedicated to this anniversary and honoring employees with long service records. Additionally, the plan considers the declaration by President Ilham Aliyev of 2025 as the "Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty" and the issues arising from this decision. Sanan Hasanov, after providing comprehensive and thorough information about the annual work plan, invited the participants to express their opinions and suggestions on the matter. Subsequently, members of the Presidium of the Free Trade Union, including Shahla Amirova, Aynur Mahmud, Shovgi Gasanov, Asiya Akhmedova, Ilham Aliyev, and Nizami Veliev, shared their opinions and additional suggestions regarding the annual work plan. It was noted that the proposed work plan fully covers all spheres of activity and responsibility of the Free Trade Union of NANA. Taking into account the activities of the President of NANA, Academician Isaak Ghabibbayli, in the work plan for further improvement of workers' welfare, as well as new tasks and requirements of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, is an indicator of its preparedness based on the current demands. The speakers also presented their proposals for the annual work plan. A broad and productive exchange of ideas and assessments took place around these proposals. As a result of the meeting, it was considered appropriate to incorporate many of the suggestions into the annual work plan.
