On February 20, the General Assembly of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) commenced its work at the Presidium building of ANAS.

The event was attended by Farah Aliyeva, Head of the Department for Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism, and Religious Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev; Chairman of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis Anar Isgandarov; Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Famil Mustafayev; President of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Aktoty Raimkulova; President of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), Professor Muzaffer Şeker (online); Member of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences (PRC), Professor Li Lei (online); members of the ANAS Presidium, members of Parliament, full and corresponding members of the Academy, directors of ANAS-affiliated scientific institutions and organizations, university rectors, and authors of significant scientific achievements obtained in Azerbaijan in 2024.

The event began with an exhibition of scientific achievements dedicated to the results of 2024.

The meeting was opened by ANAS President, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, who presented the agenda of the General Assembly.

Then, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

Following this, the memory of the distinguished scholar, corresponding member of ANAS Rufat Mirgasimov, was honored with a moment of silence.

During the General Assembly, ANAS President, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, delivered a report titled "From Fundamental Reforms in the Academy – Towards the Development Concept and Roadmap."

After that, the Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Emin Amrullayev, delivered a speech.
